I bought the leather from a store near my house. It's quite expensive, since you have to buy the entire piece of leather, and they don't cut it in the size you need. If you intend on going to those lengths, you'll need to buy leather, dye, sealant, thread, leather/shoe glue, and a very sharp Xacto knife. There's also a tool you can buy for making perfect strips of leather. It's unnecessary but very helpful.
I had my Babydoll top on while taking measurements for the pieces of leather needed. Make sure to do a few test pieces before you go on to make it out of leather. I'd suggest starting with a paper test, and then making it out of craft foam/fabric. Also, remember that you can stretch leather when it's wet.
It was really difficult to sew on my machine. I'd suggest using an industrial machine for a project like this. If you don't have one yourself, sometimes there are sewing labs available that will charge you to use their machines for a few hours.
My character is called Jane. She's a dark, deadly assassin who is skilled in combat and weaponry. She is very secretive and tends not to trust people. She picks out her victims, typically criminals who are too powerful to be touched. She is often found in tight spots. You can see images of her here:
